It's been another productive week here at CloseBrace, and I'm happy to report that some new features for CloseBrace Pro users have gone live on the site. We'll get to that, but first let's talk tutorials!
As always, I've got two new ones for you this week. Five Minute React 53 - Final Action Refactoring discusses our last bit of refactoring, which has us moving our session check from our Template component into our authentication action file. Then we move on from refactoring and build a simple registration page in the aptly named Five Minute React 54 - Building A Registration Page. Next week we'll wire the page to actions and reducers in Five Minute React 55 - Sending to the Registration API and then add some user friendliness in Five Minute React 56 - Registration Success Page.
On to development! I rolled out two Pro features this week, although one of them isn't in use just yet. The first is that CloseBrace Pro Platinum members can now find a handy download link just below every video on the site, in case they want to watch the videos offline (or just have an archive copy). The second is that any piece of content can now be date-locked, which means until the specified date, non-pro members will only be able to read the first four paragraphs, and will then encounter a box telling them when the content will unlock, with a countdown. Subscribing to CloseBrace Pro, of course, unlocks the content immediately. Currently nothing on the site is locked. My plan is to get a few more tutorials ahead, and then give pro members access to Five Minute React a week in advance.
More features for both Pro and non-pro users will be coming over the next several weeks. I'm still hoping to produce some other, shorter tutorials as well. It's all about managing my time as best I can!
That's all I've got this week. Hope everyone in the northern hemisphere has a great first weekend of fall, and for those in the southern, welcome to spring!
